Treatment Methods
- If the pterygium is small and does not have an unpleasant appearance and does not cause redness or irritation of the eyes, no special treatment is needed.
If the pterygium becomes inflamed and causes irritation and redness of the eye, it can be treated with artificial tear drops or steroid drops.
In severe cases, the only effective treatment is surgery.
